Rurality Survey: Partnership with the University of Vermont and the University of Nebraska
The Center for Community Geography will be a new an anchor partner taking part in a rurality survey that will be disseminated in the state of New Mexico and that will cover the following topics: place-based identity, migration, rural communities, landscape-human interactions. The survey will collect responses from urban, suburban, and rural residents, and the results can be analyzed by a number of different demographic and place-based factors.This initiative is a partnership between the University of New Mexico, the University of Vermont, and the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. The survey has previously been conducted in Nebraska, Utah, Missouri, and northern Italy. The research collaboartive is now seeking to expand the research by conducting the survey in three different states simultaneously and including new questions related to climate moving and political affiliation. We plan to conduct the survey for a second time in Vermont , South Dakota, and New Mexico.
