R.H. Mallory Center for Community Geography 2023-2024 Applications for Community Geography Fellows Program

The R.H. Mallory Center for Community Geography is now accepting applications for its Community Geography Fellows Program. The program is open to both graduate and undergraduate students from Geography and related fields. Fellows will receive $1500 per semester to pursue community-engaged projects in collaboration with the Center Director, staff, and affiliates. Applicants are welcome to propose potential projects in their application, but proposals are not required. Fellowship assignments are at the discretion of the Center Director and may not necessarily align with specific proposal text. The objective of these fellowships is to help students develop skills in centering community concerns in academic and professional work.

R.H. Mallory Center for Community Geography Classroom Fund for Community Engagement 2023-2024 Application

The R.H. Center for Community Geography is now accepting applications to the Classroom Fund for Community Engagement. Grants of up to $1,000 will be considered, and a total of $1,500 will be awarded. The objective of these grants is to provide seed funding that helps faculty members engage their students directly with community-led projects that enhance students' learning experiences while also contributing to community goals and projects centered on human-environment issues. Priority is given to applicants who clearly articulate and demonstrate how their project or class is centered on principles of community engagement that value local knowledge and support community-led work to achieve positive community change. For examples of pilot projects currently underway, visit our partnership page.
