GIS Day 2025

Join the Student Association of Geography & Environmental Studies (SAGES) and the Center for Community Geography for our GIS Day Celebration!
Geography Awareness Week and GIS Day are annual celebrations that aim to raise awareness about the importance of geography in our daily lives, emphasizing how geography helps us understand the world around us.
It also highlights the role geography plays in solving global challenges like climate change, urban planning, and resource management. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Day, celebrated during this week, focuses on the value of GIS technology in collecting, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data. Both events encourage individuals to explore the intersection of geography, technology, and global issues, promoting greater geographical understanding.
